Untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 beta 1 is available for iPhone 3Gs (old bootrom only) device by using sn0wbreeze-v2.8b2. iH8sn0w released sn0wbreeze v2.8 beta 2 yesterday to support untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 beta 1.
Remember: Untethered jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1 is available for iPhone 3GS with old bootrom only, otherwise the jailbreak is still tethered and needs iBooty for iOS 5 to boot your tethered device.
How-to know if iPhone 3Gs has old bootrom or new bootrom?
Check the iPhone production week. If it’s greater than 40, then you most likely have new bootrom and if it’s less than 40, you have the old bootrom and eligible for untethered ios 5 jailbreak. However, production week between 40 and 45 is mixed up between old and new bootrom you got a chance to have old bootrom version.

redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 released by iPhone Dev-Team today. Download redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 for Windows to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3. redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 supports hacktivation and untethered jailbreak.
What is redsn0w 0.9.6rc16?
redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 is an untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3.3.
So, if you want to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3, you can use redsn0w 0.9.6 rc16. redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 available for Windows and OS X (Mac). Or, if you already jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 on your device, but you are experiencing side switch vibration issue, you can re-jailbreak using redsn0w 0.9.6 rc16, but uncheck the Install Cydia option on redsn0w.

If you’re already jailbroken at 4.3.3 (by either redsn0w or custom IPSW), you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. The fix will be installed no matter what you’ve selected. This is safe for even ultrasn0w unlockers to do (because redsn0w itself won’t update your baseband…only an iTunes stock IPSW update/restore will do that).
Windows 7 and Vista users should no longer need to set their CPU affinity…just run redsn0w as Administrator in XP compatiblity mode.
