Signs of iPad 3: Best Buy cutting iPad 2 price by $50

by Costea Lestoc on February 28, 2012

It is only in rare incidence that the prices of any Apple products are cut by a large amount. One of the possible cases would be due to the launch of a new product soon. That is why when Best Buy decided to cut the price of the iPad 2 by $50, it does mean a lot in the Apple community, especially to those that are looking forward to replace their iPad with the newer version.

The 16GB entry-level iPad 2 which is a Wi-Fi only version can now be bought for only $449 and it was also stated by Engadget that the retailer has already put its inventory as “deleted”. This means that the retailer will soon be phasing out its products so that it could prepare for the launch of the newer one. However, it should also be noted that retailers do not get any advance notice from Apple therefore what Best Buy is doing is based on rumors only.

Best Buy isn’t the only retailer that is cutting the price of the iPad 2. A few weeks back, Meijer also cut the price of its iPad 2 but instead of just $50, it took of $70 off the price instead.
