The iPhone 5 had a stunning result for the Geekbench benchmark score. It scored a whopping 1500 points which is much higher than most smartphones even though it doesn’t sport a quad-core processor. However, with the iPad 4 on the way to be released, people are anxious to know how well the device fares as compared with the iPhone 5. As to no surprise, the A6X processor is even better than the one present in the iPhone 5.

Geekbench is one of the many respected benchmarking applications for mobile devices. The earlier version of Geekbench had reported that the iPhone 5 A6 processor was run by a 1.02 GHz ARMv7 architecture along with 1GB worth of RAM. However, a new version of it was released in the App Store called the Geekbench 2. With it came updated information about the A6 processor and it looked much better than the result received before.
The A6 processor was stated by Geekbench 2 to be powered by a 1.3 GHz processor instead of the aforementioned 1.02GHz. This was stated after repeated test through the application. The big change in numbers was due to a “dramatically improved processor frequency detection algorithm”.
Besides the aforementioned frequency speed discovered through Geekbench, there were also a few things known about the A6 processor too. The A6 processor contained two physical cores along with a triple-core graphics processing unit. As compared with other smartphones in the market, the iPhone 5 was also said to be the fastest amongst the rest. This was after comparing different smartphones on a same benchmarking test. With this being said and done, Apple had certainly done some good things about the iPhone 5.
