IDC released smartphones deliveries figures from the first quarter of this year, they gave the domination to Android platform, but also the iOS leap on the second position of the stack.

In the first three months of this year, Android phone manufacturers shipped 162.1 million pieces, an increase of nearly 80 percent over the same period last year, when they were delivered to 90 million pieces. These figures place first among Android smartphone software platforms, with a market share of 75 percent landslide. A year ago, Android was only 59.1 percent of sales. [click to continue…]

On June 10, iOS 7 will be presented to the whole world by Apple and the first beta version of the operating system will be launched later that evening, or very shortly after. Since it is rumored about the implementation of important changes in the next version of the operating system, probably many of you are wondering on what device you will be able to install it.

Unfortunately for many of you I have bad news, especially if you bought devices more than 2 days ago, Apple can choose to offer the new version of iOS for fewer devices for the idea to increase sales.

For months now it is rumored that Apple is preparing to launch a cheaper iPhone that would be available at a price of not exceeding $250 in the U.S. Since the terminal might interest many users today we find from Digitimes that the cheaper iPhone would have a 4 inch screen, A6 chip, plastic case that it should be presented at WWDC 2013 and released shortly after the event. Apple should prepare an initial stock of 2.5 – 3 million units to test the market, and if demand is high, production would increase.

For quite a few months now it is rumored that Apple is going to launch iPhones with lots of colored casings, but yet no one can definitely confirm this. Whether it will be talking about the iPhone 6 or the Cheap iPhone, at least one of the devices would be available in at least 5-7 colors. To make this fact known, various concepts have emerged over time, the most recent of which shows a cheap iPhone with plastic casing which looks so good that Apple will likely not release it on the market ever.

iRadio is a new music streaming service that Apple is trying to conquer a market where Pandora and Spotify are kings, but unlike the two American companies, Apple would intend to provide free services internationally. Apple is close to concluding agreements with Warner Music and Universal Music Group to bring this service to users worldwide, and it would be freely available, but Apple will run commercials during the stream, providing some of the money to companies producing and distributing music.

The launch of a cheaper iPhone this summer seems more secure, but nobody has yet given the correct “definition” to the “cheap” word since we are talking about an iPhone, a product that is generally expensive. Those from Credit Suisse seeks to clarify things by saying that the cheaper iPhone from Apple would have half the price of iPhone 5, or about $329, if we consider that the iPhone 5 has a starting price of $650 in the U.S..
