New iOS 6 Features Worth Knowing

by Costea Lestoc on June 19, 2012

iOS 6 has been announced last week at the WWDC 2012 and there were a lot of improvements made to the mobile operating system that is used by millions of people worldwide. Some of them are just minor improvements while some is in the form of new applications.

One of the improvements done is to Siri. Once updated to iOS 6, the new iPad will be able to make use of Siri as well. In addition to that, you can search about movies, sports and many more through the app. In fact, there is a new Eyes Free mode which integrates Siri to certain cars. Besides Siri, a new app that Apple has developed is Passbook. It manages the user’s boarding pass, movie tickets, retail coupons and a lot more. As it is time and location enabled, you can see them at your notification center. As far as FaceTime is concerned, it is now possible to use the app over cellular.

App Store will also experience some interface changes. Maps on the other hand, won’t make use of Google’s data anymore but instead uses the company’s own mapping system instead. You can even get real-time traffic information through the new and improved Maps.
