iPad Baseband 06.15.00

by iPhone Users on April 9, 2011

iPad Baseband 06.15.00 version came with official iOS 3.2 for iPad 3G. It is vulnerable to the AT+XAPP Vulnerability, which can be exploited via ultrasn0w. iPad Baseband 06.15.00 exists on iOS 3.2, iOS 3.2.1, and iOS 3.2.2, while the next iOS for iPad has higher baseband version.

iPad Baseband 06.15.00 can be installed via PwnageTool, redsn0w, or sn0wbreeze on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. iPad Baseband 06.15.00 required for unlockers who updated higher baseband version than baseband version 5.13.04. However, this doesn’t permit usage of the GPS chip on the phone in all cases, with users only receiving partial results from cached GPS locations or cell tower triangulation, thus rendering the GPS function useless.

So, iPhone users with baseband 05.14.02, baseband 05.15.04, and baseband 05.16.00 may unlock their baseband by upgrade to iPad baseband 06.15.00 version instead unlocking the current baseband version.
