Foursquare updates app for iOS 6, iPhone 5

by Costea Lestoc on September 27, 2012

A lot of applications today are trying to update themselves so that they can support both the iOS 6 and the iPhone 5. With this being said and done, Foursquare is joining the bandwagon as the company had recently updated their Foursquare application for the iOS. Unlike other applications where the difference was not much, Foursquare had a few additional features added to its iOS mobile application.

For those that were unaware, Foursquare has been updating their apps frequently. The last version had introduced the “Always On” feature on which you can track your friends or even VIPs. For the latest version of Foursquare, it has been updated so that it can make use of the longer screen present in the iPhone 5. In addition to that, there are a few improvements added to the Explore map. You can map out places that you haven’t been, add top destinations, favorite spots and many more.

This addition is going hand in hand with the company’s philosophy that Foursquare is more of a discovery and recommendations application instead of a social website. Hopefully, the new Apple Maps will be updated soon enough so that they can retain the customer’s experience.
