Here are solution if you get error message in iTunes: ‘An unknown error occurred (13019)‘, when you are trying to sync your iPhone OR iPod,
- Delete Voice memos in your iPhone and iTunes. Then try sync your iPhone OR iPod again. It should works.
Voice memos is causing the error (13019).
If you don’t want to delete your voice memos.
- Un-check voice memos in Music tab in iTunes. Then it will not sync the voice memos to iPhone.

- Some people also success to fix error 13019 by uncheck the music tab in iTunes, then sync it. When done, re-check the music tab in iTunes, and re-sync.
- If none of those options work, try to restore your iPhone (backup all data before do this).

The same can happen if files have been moved (or is not reachable), so iTunes can not find them at the expected location during sync. Maybe some encoding (character set) problems in the path cause the same problem as well – I've seen indications of this, but I am not sure.
If this has happened once for a file, iTunes remembers that it is a problem-file, even if the file is restores to the original location or becomes reachable again. This status is indicated with a (!)-icon in the left-most column of the details view of the library.
To fix this, either delete the files from the library (in the iTunes GUI) and add them again. Or alternatively, open the 'Info' dialog for each problem-file separately and close it again. If the file can not be found iTunes will warn about this. If it has previously marked it as a problem-file, it will find out if the file is now available again. The multi-select Info dialog can NOT do the same trick (unfortunately)…
Interesting. Thank you for additional info.
Ulrik,
I can't thank you enough. I have struggled with my ipod not syncing. I won't go into the whole saga but it has involved hours and hours on the phone with Apple support and my ipod being returned where they found that it worked fine and they couldn't recreate the problem. Following your suggestions, I have finally managed to sync my ipod touch without error messages.
I managed to find all the problem files in my music and deleted them, but I had to deselect all my podcasts because there must be some problem files in there too that I am unable to find. As soon as I did that it all worked again.
Thank you again – I am one very grateful and happy girl who is off to enjoy her ipod for the first time in months.

Thanks, very helpful. The problem in our case was some old podcasts that were causing an error because iTunes could no longer find the files.
Unchecking and Rechecking like the second option said worked for me ;)

Thank You very much. I forgot I even HAD voice memos!
Re-sync your music files. Read the post again and some useful comments.
Neither of the two solutions worked for me. I stopped syncing all my music and then resynced it, and it only succeeded for the resync. The second and third and fourth times I synced, the error was back. Any other ideas?
AMAZING!!!
Big hugs and much gratitude!
ME TOO!!!! i experienced the exact same thing and the error returns repeatedly;x totally am at a loss.
I really want my voice memos in my itunes library so I can listen to my lectures in my car but it WILL NOT let me sync the voice memos back to the itunes library on the phone, i've tried everything.. even changing them into music files. Any idea's?
Hi friend, Thanks for your help. It helped me a lot.
I had deleted some of Voice memos, and also due to space problem deleted the backup also. Now i unchecked the voice memos and tried to sync, it worked fine for me. Then i checked the voice memos once again, the new ones got reflected in the iPod. Thanks for your useful information.
Why it's doesn't work on me
YAS!
Unchecking then rechecking the music tab worked a treat.
God bless ye govna'
TQVM! the voice memo and this works for me = uncheck the music tab in iTunes, then sync it. When done, re-check the music tab in iTunes, and re-sync.

WOW!! That worked – never heard if it before
Thanks!!!
thanks
Thank you so much I unchecked it and then I re checked it… Whoever found this out is a genious. Thank you again! xxxxx
Worked! Thanks!
That hasn't worked for me. But then again I've had my iPod touch for years. I need a new one.
What if your iPod was never synced with the computer to begin with? I manually drop my songs into my iPod, so this won't exactly help my situation. I still get the error message.
I just had this (frustrating) problem and I don't sync music or anything in the first place. I went through my playlists and found a playlist full of podcasts that I had deleted in the podcast folder, so I deleted the playlist folder full of nonexistent tracks and everything is fine now.
