It isn’t every day when the server is overloaded with request for the application that you’ve developed but apparently that has happened with CloudOn which had to put down their App Store listing for a short while. The server capacity on which they had previously was overloaded and as a result, new ones were placed.
For those that aren’t aware of what CloudOn does, the application allows the user to have Microsoft Office functionalities on the iPad. This involves creating Word, Powerpoint or Excel file using the software and also does some editing on it as well. In addition to that, users can also present their presentations using the native Powerpoint format instead of changing it to PDF as well.
The whole interface of CloudOn looks exactly like Microsoft Office, therefore users can use the application without having to learn new functions as a lot of these are retained on CloudOn. It also makes use of Dropbox meaning that it will retrieve files that are available on the user’s Dropbox folders only.
Is this application worth it? First of all, it is free and most importantly, it simply works. If there is a need of a simple editing then by all means, this is the application to get.
