Apple Mac OS X Mountain Lion receives 3 million downloads in 4 days

by Costea Lestoc on July 30, 2012

There are a lot of things that Apple can be proud of with its operating systems. One of it is the Mac OS but the latest iteration, which is the Mac OS X Mountain Lion, might be its best yet so far. This is because in just four days since the release of the operating system, Mac OS X Mountain Lion has received more than three million successful downloads.

One of the key reason why this number is possible might be due to the price that Apple has set on this operating system.  At a price of only $19.99, it is by far, the cheapest Mac upgrade yet. The best thing about this is that those that have Snow Leopard don’t have to think on upgrading to Lion before going to Mountain Lion because this latest OS won’t require the presence of Mac OS X Lion at all.

With this being said and done, the one that will be benefiting the most would most probably be those that are still running on Snow Leopard. They won’t have to go and upgrade to Lion first ($29.99) but rather get the cheaper upgrade to Mountain Lion instead. This would save them a good amount of money as well.
