How to Activate iPhone 4 without AT&T (micro) SIM Card?
This is a big question for people who bought their iPhone 4 from US Apple Store without having AT&T Micro SIM Card to activate iPhone 4, just like me.
If you don’t have official micro SIM card (AT&T), you can use phonebook SIM card instead.
I’m using DITS Phonebook SIM card
This is a normal SIM card, so I need to re-size it into micro sim card in order to be fit on iPhone 4 micro sim tray.

Here are some images after re-sized. It’s a micro phonebook card now.

It’s fit on iPhone 4 micro sim tray.
I got my DITS sim card from local re-seller. You may get similar phonebook card like Rebel SIMcard, OneSimCard, or any other similar phonebook card. You may also try search phonebook card on eBay.
This card will be very useful to fix iPhone which stuck on “Slide for Emergency” and “Connect to iTunes” screen and/or fix The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported on iTunes.
Once you’ve activated your iPhone, you can Jailbreak iPhone 4 and Unlock iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00.

I was watching this on some youtube videos and some of them failed to activate iphone 4 with this phonebook sim card, is it real? I'm really nervous to buy the iphone 4 to use with t-mobile after this activate (to jailbreak & unlock)
If they cut the sim card into micro-sim card by their self, there might be a mistake while cutting it.
Hi there iphoners. Recently i've upgrade my 3gs to firmware 4.1 . And I'm stuck at the emergency call screen. Can I just Use this phonebook sim card to activate it? I know I can't jailbreak it but at least I can use the phone. Btw, im from Malaysia and I'm using official network for iPhone over here (Maxis). Thanx man
Hi there,, i've upgraded my 3g iphone to 4.1 by mistake a month ago and ever since it is stuck to connect to itunes screen with the slide for emergency call thing
i got the iphone from US nd now im in egypt and for sure i dont have the official at&t sim card i tried to get the phonebook card but they said it doesnt work anymroe as apple fixed this error
so is there is any way else to activate the iphone one more time
or should it be tossed in the garbage :S

i just upgraded my 3gs(4.3.3) to version 5.0.1 via itunes and after its process is completed i entered the country and language,and after that it says that "sim not valid ."
"only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone" and after connecting it with itunes it shows the same thing on my itunes as well as on my phone. what to do???
I resolved this issue installing a new itune onto my desktop then connect my iphone then settings came up themselves.
I resolved this issue by downloading the new itune onto my desktop and run then connect my iphone to my pc it sync then the settings came up themselves automatically.
