One of the most waited jailbreak tool has just been released. The one that we are talking about is the Absinthe 2.0 and this particular jailbreak tool will make it possible for users that have already upgraded their iOS devices to version 5.1.1 to jailbreak their beloved devices. Absinthe 2.0 is also considered to be the first jailbreak that would work with the third and latest generation of iPad.
Absinthe 2.0 is a collaboration between pod2g and the Chronic Dev Team. Apparently, the rumors were true as this jailbreak tool was released at the Hack in the Box Security Conference 2012. In addition to the third generation iPad, Absinthe 2.0 is also said to be working on the third and fourth generation of iPod Touch, iPhone 3GS and later as well as all versions of the iPad. However, in the case of the $399 iPad 2, the people behind Absinthe 2.0 weren’t able to get their hands on it and test it.
As far as the operating system is concerned, Absinthe 2.0 works only with iOS 5.1.1. Ultrasn0w is also planning to release their own jailbreak tool although it may take some time for them to release it. As an added precaution, we highly recommend that you first backup your iOS device before jailbreaking them.
